tagging content
We want to provide everyone with a safe space while making the event as fun and exciting as possible. For this to happen, the entries we share/retweet must be tagged properly and appropriately. We have put together some general rules as well as some how-to's on tagging on social media platforms as well as AO3.
Because this event allows SFW and NSFW, we do not forbid minors from following the account. However, we do ask users under 18 to mute the nsfw tag and to not engage with the NSFW content. If a minor submits a NSFW entry, we will not engage with it.
General Rules for Tagging
- Do not censor or replace some of the letters of the tag with symbols or numbers.
- Examples of themes that are possible triggers and should be tagged properly and will require a TW/trigger warning tag on social media platforms:
- Suicide
- Self-Harm
- Homophobia
- Cheating
- Death / dying
- Blood
- Mental illness
- Examples of other content that should be tagged properly and would use the CW/content warning tag on social media platforms:
- Substances (alcohol, drugs, etc.)
- Cigarettes / smoking
- Food
- Illness
- Weapons
- CNC (Consensual Non-consent)
- Angst
- MCD (Major Character Death)
- Omegaverse
- The lists above are not exhaustive, and if you are unsure about a topic, it's better to tag it from the get-go.
- Please apply these general rules while tagging entries regardless of platform so that mute and filter options work properly for those curating their content.
Tagging on Social Media Platforms
- For mute options to work, warnings must be spelled and spaced correctly. Improper spacing may cause the content to sneak past mute options.
- Correct format: TW // Violence , Drugs
- Incorrect format: TW // Violence,Drugs
- Incorrect format: TW // V!olence,Dr*gs
- Incorrect format: TW//Violence , Drugs
- For adding trigger warnings, use the TW tag, and for adding content warnings use CW tag.
- NSFW entries must be tagged as 'nsfw' in addition to the #nsfwiodswknd2022 hashtag.
- If your entry doesn't have iwaoidaisuga as a romantic ship, be sure to indicate that it is purely platonic.
- Participants should avoid flooding other pairing hashtags with iwaoidaisuga content. We want to be mindful of those who may ship a section of iwaoidaisuga but not them as a polycule.
Creating Appropriate Tags on AO3
- If an Archive Warning applies to the submitted entry, it must be checked to be engaged with and accepted into the AO3 collection.
- Use the already canonized tags where possible (e.g. Mutual Pining, Alternate Universe - College/University, First Kiss, etc)
- Creators should err on the side of caution and be extensive in their tagging, but don't tag so much that it becomes hard to parse.
- If there are additional comments or notes that are important but don't fit in the tags nicely, add the tag "Other: See Story Notes" and then add the clarification in the beginning author note.
- NSFW entries must be appropriately tagged as Mature or Explicit.
- Only include additional combinations of iwaoidaisuga that are relevant to the plot (i.e. don't just add all combinations because they talk to each other).
- Use the appropriate AO3 relationship tag:
- Platonic: Iwaizumi Hajime & Oikawa Tooru & Sawamura Daichi & Sugawara Koushi
- Romantic: Iwaizumi Hajime/Oikawa Tooru/Sawamura Daichi/Sugawara Koushi
- Please tag only relationships that are relevant to the plot in the Relationship box. Any background or minor relationships should go in Additional Tags.
